Shimizu 3

The family of Shotaro (Tom) and Kimiko Shimizu, seen after the internment. The Shimizus were among the 607 permanent northern Nikkei residents removed from the coast in March 1942. In addition to the New Dominion, Shimizu owned a half-dozen other properties in Prince Rupert—all taken, along with even family heirlooms. His gift of cherry trees was his expression of forgiveness.
